I am not content to sit on the sidelines while the government gradually usurps the very essence of parental rights. I hope you share my determination. We need to stand with people like Scott and Jodi Ferris (obviously no relation to someone named Farris). Here's their story:

Jodi went into labor a bit earlier than she had expected—and the baby was coming rapidly. Given their location and other factors, the midwife they had hoped would deliver the baby at their home encouraged them to get in an ambulance and head to the hospital.

Their baby, whom I will call "Annie," was born in the ambulance in the parking lot of the Hershey Medical Center—a government hospital in Pennsylvania. Hospital personnel arrived very quickly and took charge of both baby and mom.

Mimi DesJardins resigned as a 2nd Circuit Family Court judge Tuesday, the same day a complaint was filed in Wailuku District Court charging her with tampering with a government record, according to the state Judiciary.

The complaint alleges that DesJardins falsely made, completed or altered, or made a false entry in 10 judicial determination of probable cause documents Feb. 17. A judicial determination of probable cause is required to hold someone in custody longer than 48 hours from the time of arrest.

Deputy Attorney General Christopher Young said Wednesday that he couldn't provide additional details "at this point" about the charge, which is based on an investigation by the state attorney general's office.

From AG:...or so it appears...

Maui family court judge resigns

WAILUKU, Hawaii (AP) — A Maui family court judge resigned on the same day that a tampering complaint was filed against her.

The Maui News reports that Mimi DesJardins resigned as a 2nd Circuit Family Court judge on Tuesday. That is the same day a complaint was filed in Wailuku District Court charging her with tampering with a government record.

Desjardins was unanimously confirmed to the bench in late January.

The Maui News says the complaint alleges that DesJardins falsely made, completed or altered, or made a false entry in 10 documents on Feb. 17. The documents are needed to hold someone in custody longer than 48 hours from the time of arrest.

DesJardins is scheduled to appear May 2 in Wailuku District Court.

A Sacramento couple is without their 5 month old baby after Child Protective Services sent in the police to forcibly remove the child from their care.

A hearing is scheduled for Monday, April 29, 2013 on the incident which was triggered when Anna Nikolayev and her husband Alex took baby Sammy out of Sutter Memorial Hospital and sought a second opinion at Kaiser Permanente, a rival hospital, for Sammy's flu-like symptoms.

WATCH THE VIDEO

Anna and Alex were concerned about the quality of care baby Sammy was receiving at Sutter where he was admitted nearly two weeks ago. At one point, Anna questioned the antibiotics Sammy was being given and was alarmed that the nurse administering the treatment didn't know why the child was receiving them. Anna claims that a doctor later said that Sammy should not have been receiving the medication.

cybercrimeIn the not-too-distant past, the threat of hacking was confined to PCs and laptops. Today, we rely on a proliferation of electronic devices for communication, directions and entertainment – all potential channels of information for hackers with malicious intent. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technology, cell phones, Global Positioning Services (GPS), Internet-enabled TVs, tablets and wired cars are all susceptible to thieves trying to access critical personal information.

Cybercrime is on the rise, one of the most rapidly growing areas of prosecuted crime. Hackers may be computer geeks with malicious intent, identity thieves, spies, traders in illegal pornography or businesses attempting to disrupt competitor's websites. The impact on society can be staggering, ranging from downed systems for vital infrastructure like hospitals or emergency response systems to financial cost. Brand damage is difficult to measure, and the cost to repair and prevent future damage from hackers annually runs into the billions.

dara examiner airplaneJapan was just a place for us to gather our thoughts since there was no time or opportunity to do so calmly and quietly in Germany so we only booked ourselves there for three days.

Not knowing if we were "wanted" or by whom for what exactly, we considered mom's options:

  1. Return to Germany
  2. Ask for political asylum in Japan
  3. Return to the United States, notify authorities of all that occurred and beg for protective custody
