Dr. Dennis Ayon gave a thumbs up yesterday as he entered Honolulu District Court.
She describes Dennis Ayon's mood swings in the alleged plot

The patient that Wahiawa physician Dennis Ayon is accused of asking to kill his ex-girlfriend testified yesterday in Honolulu District Court that he at first promised her she would be rewarded if she beat up the woman.

"Then he said he just wanted the b---- dead," Linda Moore testified yesterday.

And if Moore couldn't do it, she said Ayon told her he knew a lot of people who could "bash her f------ head in."

Following Moore's testimony, Judge Gerald Kibe upheld the murder solicitation charge against Ayon and forwarded the case to Circuit Court for trial. Kibe scheduled Ayon's arraignment for Nov. 29.

Ayon, 48, remains in custody in lieu of $1 million cash bail.

Moore said she believes Ayon selected her to harm the mother of his 4-year-old son because the two women don't know each other and "because basically, he knew I'm emotionally unstable because I'm on a(n) antidepressant."

She described a one-hour meeting with Ayon in his Kilani Avenue office on Nov. 6 in which Ayon's emotions swung drastically from calm to angry to tearful and back to calm.

When Ayon was angry, "his forehead was red and he was sweating bad," Moore said. "It was scary."

Moore said it was during that meeting that Ayon gave her his ex-girlfriend's address and telephone number and asked her to harm the woman. She said Ayon blamed the ex-girlfriend for cutting him off from his son, harming the boy and dragging him to court, and for the loss of his house and car.

Moore also described what she said was Ayon's wild behavior when she and a friend went to Ayon's home for dinner that evening.

She said Ayon was drunk and argued with another guest, prompting the guest to leave. He urinated off his balcony and then played the piano, she said.

Moore said Ayon kept hitting on her friend, gave the friend $100 and told the two women to use his car to go shopping. Then he called them, accused them of stealing his car and threatened to call the police.

Moore said she thought he was joking about his desire to kill his ex-girlfriend until she called the number he gave her the next day. She said the ex-girlfriend gasped when she told her what Ayon asked her to do.

She said the two women met at Aloha Tower on Nov. 8 and went to police.

Police arrested Ayon that afternoon.
