KAHULUI - The Maui County prosecuting attorney's office will sponsor a two-day workshop April 15 and 16 for leaders of men's organizations in the county on ending violence against women.

Two trainers from Men Against Rape, an international organization that mobilizes men to use their strength for creating cultures free from violence, will be the presenters.

The group recently conducted a similar training for more than 80 Big Island leaders at the invitation of the Hawaii County prosecutor.

The workshop, "Man of Strength Roots of Change: Preventing Sexual Violence in Maui County," will be co-sponsored by the Maui County Sexual Violence Prevention Project and the Hawaii Department of Health.

It will be held at the Pilani Building multipurpose room at the University of Hawaii Maui College.

The free, all-day workshop April 15 will be followed the next day by training on how to take what the leaders have learned back to their organizations, especially in relation to mentoring younger men and boys.

The deadline to register is Monday. Register at www.123signup.com/register?id=mzrrh or call 531-2198, ext. 2.
